The Losers

From Rotten Tomatoes: What makes The Losers such winning entertainment is its refusal to take the story or the characters too seriously, alongside a uniformly excellent cast who all step into the shallow boots of their characters with aplomb.

The Losers

Most excellent movie. If you have not had a chance to see this film, check it out ... it is really good. I had to sit back down and watch it for a second time. Some say the movie is not really good, just watch it for yourself and decide.

VN Board 20k Mark

Thought I would post this up, since it is sort of funny. I was getting sort of close to the 20,000 post count on the VN Boards, so I went and googled up a VN Spam Thread. It just so happened to be on an Asherons Call board but it was a spam thread and I didn't care. So I snuck over there even though I am a Dark Age of Camelot poster and started spamming the hell out of the thread. It didn't take long until a couple of Moderators found me farming post counts. They knew what I was doing and figured they would have a little fun with me.

The Thistledown VN Board Thread

So I started getting a little concerned because now I have moderators watching me and I know if they catch me at the exact 20k post count I catch a milemark ban (which is all in good fun) so I am determined to beat the moderators. I quietly go back to the DAoC VN Boards and make a thread titled "ot: Mods are stalking me HALP!"

ot: Mods are stalking me HALP Thread

Who were the first people to post in that thread? Yup you guess it, so I played around and then tried to Ninja post me through to 20k. Wrong! 19,999 they ban me .... bunch of cheaters lol so while I am banned someone makes a totally seperate thread about my ban to rub it in once I returned from my ban.

RIP -Damaja-

All in all I had a good time screwing arounf on VN, which is actually a nice change. Fun all around for everyone!

Gaming Woes

The EverQuest Freeshard crap got old pretty fast. I suppose it being a freeshard server didn't help matters any. All these games out there and none of them do a thing for me lol ... maybe StarCraft II will help some. I'll grab my copy tonight at midnight. Out of all the games, it's Dark Age of Camelot I miss the most but they refuse to fix the Mordred server.

How many years does a server have to sit with no population before they get off of there asses and fix it? If Mythic had half a clue they would be dangerous. I guess I'll sit tight and hope one day Mythic gets around to fixing Mordred PvP server.

EverQuest Next

EverQuest Next

Ten years ago, the launch of EverQuest arguably changed the gaming industry forever. Its combination of gameplay, story and cosmetic appeal was precisely what gamers had been waiting for and would soon be the inspiration for many great, and some not so great games to come. Over the years, Sony Online Entertainment has released a number of subsequent EverQuest games set in the world of Norrath; most notable of which being EverQuest Online Adventures and EverQuest II. While both titles continue to retain an active player-base, lately "Will there be an EverQuest III?" has been an increasingly popular subject. Keep reading for official confirmation that "EverQuest Next" is in development.

Recently, we got our hands on a copy of the 10th Anniversary EverQuest Book written by Rusel DeMaria and Paul Lipscombe. The last chapter of this book is intriguingly titled "EverQuest Next" and was individually written by EverQuest Creative Director, Rich Waters. "As we contemplate future EverQuest games, we have to ask, what does the modern MMO player really want from today's games? What will they want four years from now? Current MMOs are still designed traditionally with a pen-and-paper game feel behind them-lots of stats and numbers, experience-based levels and a focus on auto-attack dice roll combat. Will that work for next-gen MMOs, or do we try something different?" Waters writes inquisitively. Later he mentions how they were "ahead of the curve" with EverQuest Online Adventures for the PlayStation 2 because "few players had network adapters for the PS2, and even fewer knew what an MMO was".

It's the final statement of the Chapter that confirms "EverQuest Next", however. "So you can see there's a lot to wrestle with as we begin laying the foundation for EverQuest 'Next.' As I write this, we have concept artists and game designers working hard in our studio-taking the lessons of the past, the best parts of the present and the most promising ideas for the future-to bring the world of Norrath to a new generation of players, as well as the dedicated legions of fans who made the EverQuest franchise timeless. I hope we'll see you there."

Does this mean that "EverQuest Next" will give players an innovative, outside of the MMO box look at Norrath? Is it safe to assume that the next installment of EverQuest will be console bound? Currently, there's not much room for anything other than speculation. One thing is clear though, with a confirmed EverQuest Movie and a new EverQuest MMO in the works, our beloved franchise has a bright future ahead of it.
